ISA Wuhan Student Development Centre (SDC) works with all campus departments to coordinate and support students' work beyond campus life and between departments. The aim is to care for and nurture students' emotional and social well-being, to help them grow into responsible global citizens, to achieve their full potential and to help them become better versions of themselves.

Currently, the Student Development Centre offers the following series of courses to provide students with more opportunities to explore areas beyond the classroom in an excellent way and to help students truly achieve personalised and holistic development.
The student groups are formed by ISA Wuhan students on their own initiative, aiming to take care of every student's needs in physical and mental health, cultural understanding, boarding life and other aspects from a student's point of view. Through different groups activities, such as the Student Council, the Youth League Committee, the Mentorship System for Students' Autonomous and Innovative Clubs, tutorial system, and the House System, we are able to create a positive and inclusive school community and culture and create a warm educational environment.
There are a number of specialist arts, sports and academic school teams which are organized by student groups, including choirs, orchestras, debating teams, swimming teams, football teams, volleyball teams, etc. Students who share a common interest can apply and be selected to be part of the team and receive specialised training during lunchtime or after school hours to help them excel in their area of expertise.
The innovation ability of a country and a nation fundamentally affects or even determines the future destiny of the country and the nation. ISA Wuhan believes that the cultivation of innovation lies ultimately in the early training of young people. The school has invested heavily in space and equipments of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), and has integrated STEM into all stages of education. ISA Wuhan also cooperates with academicians, university professors, and master teachers of academic competitions to embark on the cultivation of top-notch innovators.
ISA Wuhan focus on developing students' logical thinking skills at an early age. Participating in high-level maths competitions can help develop students' interests in mathematics and science so to faciliate their future education. AMC8 is an American maths competition for students in Year 8 and below, and is one of the most prestigious competitions for this age group. Earning an AMC8 award is critical for both applying to US middle and high schools and for laying the foundation for higher level competitions.
When applying for the world's most prestigious universities, not only do they look at academic results, but they also focus on the extracurricular activities, clubs, competitions, international awards and practical achievements of the students, so as to assess the overall ability of the candidate. The school offers a range of Co- Curriculum Activities (CCA) every school year to help students explore and develop their interests. In addition, ISA Wuhan has joined forces with the professional educational service resources of ISA Education Group to establish the ISA Wuhan International Academy, which provides students with additional interest courses on top of the school's after-school classes, covering the eight major areas of sports, science and technology, music, arts, academics, social humanities, public welfare, and life skills, which take place every day after school and on weekends, providing the ISA community and the whole society with a new experience of customised, high-end, international quality education.
